FISHING
Cabo San Lucas holds one of the largest fishing tournaments in the world, called the Bisbee tournament, every year. Toted as the billfish capital, there is also ample wahoo, dorado, sierra, skipjack, bonito, mako and yellow tail to be caught in the waters surrounding Los Cabos.
GOLF
A golf enthusiast's delight, Cabo has world-class golf courses throughout the corridor. The scenery is breathtaking; the courses are challenging; the climate's ideal-Los Cabos' golf appeals to players at all levels of play and handicap.
ECO-TOURISM
Eco tourism is another attraction here in Los Cabos. With thousands of miles of untouched desert landscape, and miles and miles of undeveloped beaches, the area boasts a wilderness that few have explored. You can find goats, horses, desert fox, lizards and other reptiles, birdlife, and wild burros.
There are natural hot springs, waterfalls, flora and fauna thousands of years old-with so much of this area still untouched wilderness, it's an explorer's delight. Discovering the area by horseback or foot will leave you feeling like you stepped back in time.
Turtle season is an exciting time of year here. Five of the world's seven species of sea turtle inhabit the waters surrounding the Baja California peninsula. With many beaches not bearing a footprint, you can witness them lay, hatch and head back out to sea.
A few days of rain in September, starts a magical time of the year here in Los Cabos. Butterflies by the millions flock to "the land's end", in time for the desert landscape to come into bloom. September and October is a mystical time of the year; like thousands of petals in the breeze, the butterflies are everywhere creating a beautiful color palate in the scenery and adding an additional dimension to the already colorful landscape of desert flora.
WHALE WATCHING
This area is also the migrating area for 8 of the world's 11 species of whale through the months of December through April. Pods of whales can be witnessed right from the beach, as they head up the Sea of Cortez to birth their calves, breed and nurse their young.
DIVING
Los Cabos also claims some of the best diving in the world. The Sea of Cortez possesses the highest biodiversity of marine life in the world. The only living hard coral reef just north of San Jose has been named one of the best diving areas in the world. An underwater sand fall surrounding the famous land's end arch is an underwater marvel that few places in the world can be witnessed.
HORSEBACK RIDING
The premiere riding and boarding stables in Los Cabos, Cuadra San Francisco is a professional equestrian centre that appeals to all ages and levels of experience. Francisco is a fourth generation Charro (traditional horse gentleman) with 40 years of riding experience, and both he and his son Valente are available for lessons, shows, and horse-drawn carriage rides. Their facility is located across from the beach at the edge of the foothills in the corridor between Cabo San Lucas and San Jose del Cabo, giving you a choice of terrain for your ride. The riding experience is second to none with top-quality healthy horses and professional guides.
