Getting There

San Jose International Airport (SJD) is the single largest international Airport on the Baja Peninsula and serves 15 airlines with non-stop flights to more than 18 U.S. and Canadian destinations.  SJD is the second busiest private jetport in North America, and third busiest in the world.

Because of this traffic and the exponential increase in tourist traffic every year, the ministry of tourism has placed two new projects at the top of their list. The first is the expansion of the current SJD airport, to allow for multiple runways and to increase the non-stop destinations to include Europe and Asia. Second is the grand opening of the Cabo San Lucas International Airport (CJD), which will allow Los Cabo tourists and residents the ability to fly into either port, depending on which is closest to their home or hotel.

This second expansion is most important to Punta Pacifica because the San Lucas Airport is only 25 miles away. This places Punta Pacifica at a closer distance to the new airport than Cabo San Lucas is currently to the SJD-both in distance and in time. Punta Pacifica is also 65 miles from the La Paz International Airport, which serves commuter flights between San Diego, Tijuana, Mexico City, and Guadalajara.
